Hi, I’m Claire Walter and, like Mrs. Dalloway, I insist on “buying the flowers myself.” Twelve years ago I was reading Virginia Woolf’s Mrs. Dalloway in English 405 and, on a whim, signed up for Introduction to Floral Design at The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Three years and many classes in floral design later, the seeds of Mrs. Dalloway’s Flowers were sown.
Today, my dual passions of literature and design are still inextricably linked. Professionally, I teach high school English, but in my spare time I design flowers for happiness, and for the chance to turn my apartment into a veritable garden for an afternoon. Mrs. Dalloway’s is the intersection of a passion for literature, a passion for flowers, and a passion for life.
I look forward to working with you!
